(Just an old photo that has nothing to with the rest of the post).
Tomorrow is D-Day…the day I return my damp cellar of a dorm and resume the strenuous life of a high school student (I’m feeling rather dramatic at the moment since I was just memorizing my lines for the musical). Back to the quizzes, assignments, all-nighters and the poignant odor of competition in the hallways (or maybe it’s just teenage armpit).
Needless to say, I’m not happy about ending my winter holidays. On the bright side, I am looking forward to new classes and the last semester of high school before embarking on the adventure called “adulthood.” Okay, technically, I’d still be a teenager but whatever.
All around me (in real AND on Tumblr), I’m hearing about university acceptances and offer and I can’t help but feel a tad jealous. You see, I’m in a rather…awkward situation. I am planning on attending an Australian university, however, I’m living in China and studying at a Canadian high school. Since North American and Aussie school semesters do not mesh, I have to apply for a mid-semester entrance in uni. The problem? Applications begins in April. APRIL! That means most of my friends will already be accepted into their choices of unis before I’ve even applied! Not to even mention, mid-year admission places are fewer AND I don’t even know if the course of my choice will be offered until the information is released in April. This puts me at a huge disadvantage.
All I can do work hard at my classes and hope for the best (how depressing).
