St. Patrick’s Day.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day guys! I don’t really celebrate but just thought I’d mention it for those of you who do.

My weekends are usually filled with sleep, homework, procrastination and Tumblr, however, I decided to shake things up a bit this Saturday. I went out with my family and had some Korean barbecue. I have no idea what I ate but it was delicious so it’s all good!

Above are just some Instagram photos of what I wore. Mainly because I was excited to finally haul out some lighter clothing. With the weather getting warmer, I no longer have to bundle myself up in a heavy winter coat! Some of you may have seen a few of the piece I’m wearing in my previous posts. I’m especially crazy about the trench coat. It has a flared out bottom so it’s just the perfect mixture of mysterious and feminine.

I finally chose the song I’m doing for my school’s No Pop Show as well- Safe & Sound! I loved the song the first time I heard it so I thought, why not? I even checked Wikipedia to make sure it isn’t pop. I might be posting a cover of me singing it later on to get you guys’ opinion so look out for that!

Let’s try something new.

I stocked up on some much needed winter items for my closet the day before and I thought I’d share my find with everyone!

  • Boots from H&M: most of my winter footwear are heels so I knew I had to get these when I saw them! They are perfect for long shopping trips.

  • Cardigan from H&M: the photo definitely does not do it justice. The fabric is a sheer cotton and so comfortable to wear. This was actually a last minute discovery of mine on my way out of the dressing room but I can see it becoming a favourite as the weather becomes warmer as a versatile cover up for dresses or even tank top and jeans.
  • Trench coat from Urban Renewal: I’m not sure where this brand is from but I’m positive it’s not the same as the one from Urban Outfitters. Probably just a Chinese or HK brand. Anyway, I am crazy about this coat! Again, seeing in on a coat hanger is much less flattering than on a person. It is a trench coat with a twist! What I love about it is it’s mysterious “Sherlock” collar- my sister swears I look like a female version of Sherlock Holmes wearing it. The defined waist line also caught my eye as did the skirt-like hem. It’s a perfect mixture of masculinity and femininity.
  • Blazer jacket from Urban Renewal: Believe it or not, I have never owned a single blazer (well apart from the one in my school uniform). Being a petite girl, they always have a way of swallowing my entire form and making me look shorter than ever. However this jacket works for me. The sleeves are too long but I can easy get this fixed at tailor’s. Since getting it, I’ve been going crazy saving inspiration images of girls in blazers on tumblr fashion blogs.

  • Trench coat From ZARA: this coat was definitely heaven-sent! I’ve been search for a warm, timeless piece like this forever. I love the Audrey Hepburn feel of it with the collar up!

    • Cable knit coat from H&M: not something I could use in the current weather but once it gets warmer, I’m sure this would get a lot of wear. The colour and fit were just too perfect for me to pass this up!

    • Cardigan from H&M: this has to be one of my favourite purchases of the lot. It’s totally flattering on my figure and I love the cranberry colour. My winter closet is literally 90% different shades of grey…so depressing. I feel a need for change, to shake things up a little. I want to push my boundaries, fashion-wise. I want to try new patterns, new styles and new colours. Whether it be a blazer or a brighter hue!

    • Dress from H&M: my mum actually picked this out for me and while I had reservations about it at first, I quite like it. Being short (oh the woes) long dresses do nothing for me, but the flowy quality of this dress makes up for that.

    • Sweater from H&M: not one of my favourite buys but it’s different from what I usually wear and I’m excited about trying out new combinations with it. I like how I can wear it as a dress though because I prefer wearing leggings in winter as opposed to actual pants. Winter wear is bulky enough without stuffing jeans into boots!

    • Dress from H&M: I saw this dress on a rack outside the fitting rooms in exactly my size. I think it was the last one left because I couldn’t find it anywhere else int he store! Fate? I think so. It’s perfect for singing performances and I can see myself wearing it for my school’s next No Pop Concert.

I feel as though I’ve played it too safe with my current closet and I’m getting bored. I really want to discover me and my style this year so a lot of experimenting is in store!

In middle school, I went through this rather embarrassing Japanese fashion phase. Don’t get me wrong- I have nothing against Japanese fashion but it really wasn’t for me. I used to wear all these pastel colours and sparkly bows in my hair which only made me look even younger (and I already look young for my ages). Luckily I dropped it a while after entering high school.

One of my high school friend’s first impression of me: “You were so pale, had pigtails, wore a bow and looked 12.”

I’ve since moved on to embrace a more chic, simplistic and mature style. However, yesterday, my mum bought me some old summer issues of Vivi magazine which I was obsessed with during said phase.

I flipped through some pages and was surprised to find a few styles that I still quite like. Look at me, being all productive and planning my summer wardrobe months ahead :)

      Cocktail dresses (and other stuff)

Just a couple of dresses I bought in Guangzhou and HK. The first three are from H&M and the last is from Cotton On. They were having these massive sales so I picked up these dresses and also a few cardigans, a scarf a a few pairs of gloves.

I especially adore the third dress. It’s a tad more mature than what I usually wear but I need to experiment with more different styles. It’s kind of sexy but not overboard so it’s really classy at the same time. Can’t wait for an occasion to wear it!

Soft hued, chunky sweaters are definitely a closet staple of mine during winter. They are so easier to wear- all you have to do is throw on your favourite pair of jeans, some boots, a scarf and maybe a cute hate and voila! It’s an outfit. In retrospect, I probably should incorporate more colour into my winter closet. It’s mainly dominated by various shades of grey.

I am seriously obsessed with dresses that are short in the front but have long, flowy trains at the back. I think it’s a perfect combination of flirt and classy with a touch of glamour. I need a dress like this for my graduation party!

I’m in love with this headband. It has this ancient Greek feel to it if you know what I mean. Does anyone know where I can get something like this?

A night of terror is looming…

Since I’ve been so obsessed with flapper-inspired fashion lately, naturally I’ve decided to be a flapper for Halloween :)

What is everyone else going be?

My first Polyvore! Actually, I made an account quite some time ago but never got around to creating anything. Seeing as I am currently experiencing severe insomnia, I entertained myself by putting together a wishlist set.
